hey, i'm rae byers!

Let's get to know each other!

Hey, I’m Rae — a photographer, storyteller, and certified over-thinker when it comes to chasing good light. I’m currently studying photography while working hands-on in the field, learning the ropes (and the rogue sun flares) every step of the way. When I’m not behind the camera, you can find me people-watching at coffee shops, befriending dogs at the park, or romanticizing everyday life like it's a movie montage.

I believe photos should feel like home—real, warm, and a little bit magical. Whether it’s your biggest moment or a quiet in-between, I’m here to help you freeze it in time.

Let’s make something beautiful together. 📸✨

Photography has always been a passion and hobby for me, but meeting the man I fondly call my muse, my husband, pushed me to do something more with it and my own life. Tony was 18 when he was in a rollerblading accident that left him with a TBI and a lobectomy where 1/4 of his frontal lobe was removed. About 11 years ago, he began to have seizures as a result of his brain injury. Because of the damage that the seizures can cause, his short-term memory has been severely affected.

In April 2025, Tony and I were in an auto accident where he went into a state of seizures that was incredibly hard to stop, and the doctors didn't have a lot of hope. My man is a fighter, and he spent 4 days on the ventilator before waking up. Though we'd just gotten married not even a month prior, he suddenly didn't remember our wedding day.

My entire world felt like it was over. But when I showed him a photo from that happy day, it all flooded back. I remembered the Adam Sandler movie, 50 First Dates. His love for Lucy, despite her memory loss, inspires me to wake up every day and document our lives. I do so, so that as we grow older, Tony never forgets the memories, not fully anyway.

It's my mission to foster a client-photographer relationship that lets you feel comfortable sharing your special occasions, or even a "just because," with me. It's my duty not only to capture the moments you're looking forward to at your shoot, but also the beautiful little things you don't see that make life worth living.
